Acupoints for Limb Pain

🗺️ Meridian: Large Intestine Meridian

🇨🇳 Chinese: 合谷 (hé gǔ)

🎯 Location: On the dorsum of the hand between 1st & 2nd metacarpal bones approximately in the middle of the 2nd metacarpal bone on the radial side.

⚠️ Cautions: Contraindicated during pregnancy; avoid in first trimester.

🛡️ Treats: fever, tinnitus, release:exterior, amenorrhea, wind

⚠️ Cautions: Avoid deep perpendicular needling.

🛡️ Treats: cough, fever, dyspnoea, sweating, dizziness

🗺️ Meridian: Gallbladder Meridian

🇨🇳 Chinese: 環跳 (huán tiào)

🎯 Location: At the junction of the lateral ⅓ and medial ⅔ of the distance between prominence of the greater trochanter and hiatus of the sacrum, du2; when locating point put patient in the lateral recumbent position the with thigh flexed.

⚠️ Cautions: Caution with sciatic nerve.

🛡️ Treats: pain:knee, pain:back, pain:leg, pain:hip, pain

🗺️ Meridian: Small Intestine Meridian

🇨🇳 Chinese: 養老 (yǎng lǎo)

🎯 Location: Dorsal to the head of the ulna; when palm face chest point is in the bonny cleft on the radial side of the styloid process of the ulna.

⚠️ Cautions: No specific contraindications.

🛡️ Treats: pain:back, pain:shoulder, pain, pain:back:lumbar, stagnation:channel

🗺️ Meridian: Lung Meridian

🇨🇳 Chinese: 列缺 (liè quē)

🎯 Location: Superior to the styloid process of the radius 1.5 thumb widths above the transverse crease of the wrist between brachioradialis and tendon of the abductor policis longus.

⚠️ Cautions: Use with caution in patients with radial nerve sensitivity.

🛡️ Treats: heat:chest, cough, fever, dyspnoea, phlegm
