🗺️ Meridian: Large Intestine Meridian

🇨🇳 Chinese: 合谷 (hé gǔ)

🎯 Location: On the dorsum of the hand between 1st & 2nd metacarpal bones approximately in the middle of the 2nd metacarpal bone on the radial side.

⚠️ Cautions: Traditionally forbidden in pregnancy – these are the points used to bring on labour at term. Controlled data show no excess of preterm birth or stillbirth (Carr 2015), but in pregnancy needle only on a clear obstetric indication.

🇨🇳 Chinese: 扶突 (fú tū)

🎯 Location: On the lateral side of the neck, level with tip of the adam's apple between sternal and clavicular heads of the scm muscle.

⚠️ Cautions: Avoid deep needling; proximity to carotid artery and thyroid.

🛡️ Treats: Cough, Asthma, Swelling, Sore Throat, Facial Pain

🇨🇳 Chinese: 人迎 (rén yíng)

🎯 Location: Level with tip of the adam's apple where pulsation of the common the carotid artery is palpable on the anterior border of the scm muscle.

⚠️ Cautions: Caution near carotid artery; avoid deep needling.

🛡️ Treats: Asthma, Dizziness, Chest Fullness, Vomiting, Swelling

🗺️ Meridian: Heart Meridian

🇨🇳 Chinese: 通里 (tōng lǐ)

🎯 Location: When palm faces upward point is on the radial side of the tendon of the flexor carpi ulnaris, 1 thumb width above the transverse crease of the wrist.

⚠️ Cautions: No specific contraindications.

🛡️ Treats: Dizziness, Palpitations, Qi Deficiency, Depression, Chest Fullness

🗺️ Meridian: Pericardium Meridian

🇨🇳 Chinese: 間使 (jiān shǐ)

🎯 Location: 3 thumb widths above the transverse crease of the wrist between tendons of the palmaris longus and flexor carpi radialis.

⚠️ Cautions: No specific contraindications.

🛡️ Treats: Phlegm, Palpitations, Vomiting, Abdominal Pain, Aversion Cold

🗺️ Meridian: Conception Vessel

🇨🇳 Chinese: 廉泉 (lián quán)

🎯 Location: Above adam's apple in the depression of the upper border of the hyoid bone.

⚠️ Cautions: Caution with hyoid bone.

🛡️ Treats: Cough, Chest Pain, Shortness of Breath, Excessive Salivation, Dry Mouth

🗺️ Meridian: Governing Vessel

🇨🇳 Chinese: 啞門 (yǎ mén)

🎯 Location: 0.5 thumb widths directly above the midpoint of the posterior hairline in the depression the below spinous process of the 1st cervical vertebra.

⚠️ Cautions: Caution near upper cervical spine.

🛡️ Treats: Fever, Depression, Wind, Chills, Epilepsy
